Cape Town’s eye-catching destination brochure – until recently only available in English – has been translated into French, German, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish.
Launched by Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato and the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, Alderman James Vos, the new brochures form part of the City’s arsenal of destination marketing tools.
“I am very proud of these booklets as it is the first time that we have translated our marketing material into foreign languages,” said Mayor Plato.
These brochures are a beautiful summary of what Cape Town has to offer and are perfect as a marketing tool for key international stakeholders and markets.
The visually-appealing brochure is one of several innovative tools developed by the City’s Enterprise and Investment Department, said Alderman Vos.
Other tools include our Digital Film & Image Library, containing high quality stock images and videos available for free download, and the ‘key to the city’ USB stick, containing information about the City’s Destination pillars, i.e. Visit, Live, Work, Study, Play and Invest.
“The booklet and marketing tools are great,” said Jose Carlos Reis Arsenio, Consul-General of Portugal in Cape Town. “Visitors will find the information very useful.”
Michel Laham Neto, Deputy Consul of Brazil, said the booklet was a “must-have” for anyone visiting Cape Town. “It’s fantastic! And the images, beautiful.”
Lin Jing, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Cape Town, said: “I enjoyed paging through it. The Mayor and his team have done a good job.”
